的 Center for the Performing 和 Cinematic 艺术 at Temple hosts 1,400 annual music 和 dance concerts, 讲座, master classes 和 recitals. With hundreds of concerts per year, Boyer students have an array of performance opportunities that meet their interests 和 skill level. Students can participate in instrumental 和 vocal clubs or ensembles, 和 some can perform at renowned institutions or record music.

While most ensembles require auditions, many music groups do not.

  • 的 Boyer College Electroacoustic Ensemble Project (BEEP) brings together students who create electroacoustic music in a collaborative environment. BEEP functions as an electronic music b和, a fusion of computers 和 traditional instruments, 和 a laptop orchestra.
  • Night Owls Campus Community B和 is a large concert wind b和 that comprises community members from the Greater Philadelphia area with Temple University students 和 staff. 的 ensemble performs one concert at the end of each semester.
  • OwlCappella is a coed a cappella group—one of seven student-run a cappella ensembles on campus—that provides a musical outlet for non-Music 和 Music majors alike.
  • Owlchestra Community Orchestra is a community string orchestra composed of students 和 community members who want to play music together in a low-stress environment.
  • 猫头鹰唱歌 is a mixed choir, comprising Temple University alumni, 教师, staff 和 students as well as members of the Greater Philadelphia community. 的 ensemble's primary goal is to create a dynamic 和 inclusive singing community through the appreciation 和 performance of music from diverse cultures, 类型, places 和 time periods.
  • Swinging Owls Campus Jazz B和 is a traditional big b和 made up of community members from Greater Philadelphia as well as Temple students 和 staff. Membership does not require an audition, but participants should be able to read music 和 bring their own instruments, either rented or owned.

Instrumental 乐团

Boyer students have opportunities to perform in more than 10 instrumental ensembles, made up of b和s, orchestras 和 more. 乐团 include the

  • Boyer College Electroacoustic Ensemble Project, which creates electroacoustic music in a collaborative environment. It functions as an electronic music b和, a fusion of computers 和 traditional instruments, 和 a laptop orchestra.
  • Chamber Orchestra, which performs larger chamber works in a true chamber music setting. 的 Chamber Orchestra generally performs one concert per semester 和 on occasion has joined with the Temple University Concert Choir in a combined performance.
  • Diamond Marching B和, which performs at athletic events throughout the academic year, including traditional pregame shows 和 varied halftime shows throughout the season. 的 “Pride of the 樱桃 和 White” marching b和 performs at all home games 和 also travels to select away games.
  • 歌剧院管弦乐团, which accompanies Opera 的ater each semester in a fully staged production.
  • Percussion Ensemble, which provides a quality educational chamber music experience for its members, promotes the performance of percussion literature in a variety of styles, 和 encourages the composition of new works for the medium.
  • Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra composed of undergraduate 和 graduate students. 的 orchestra has performed in recent years at the Kimmel Center for the Performing 艺术 in Philadelphia, as well as Carnegie Hall 和 the Lincoln Center.
  • 风交响曲, an ensemble that comprises advanced graduate 和 undergraduate musicians 和 performs at least six formal concerts throughout the academic year.
